Get to Know: Jo!
A little over a year ago, Look, Cook, and Eat hired its first employee — Jo Hoss! Jo is our Data Base Coordinator, which means she is in charge of taking all of the photos, voice overs, and videos that we produce for our recipes and transfering them to the data base that houses all of the content for Look, Cook, and Eat. It’s a huge task and she does a really great job for us. We’re very glad she’s helping us out.
Here are a few interesting tidbits about Jo that we think you might like to know!
Full Name: JoEllyn

How old are you? 41 years old

Have you made anything from LCE yourself? If so, what and how did they turn out? Yes, Sausage Broccoli Quiche Muffins, and they were excellent.
What’s the thing about cooking that makes you the most nervous? Working with hot items.
What are your hobbies? Using my iPad, art, writing, reading, and going to coffee shops.
What’s your favorite thing to eat? Pizza
What’s your least favorite thing to eat? Potatoes
Dog person or cat person? I love all animals, but right now I have a crazy robotic cat because I can’t have pets in my apartment.
What kind of cake do you like to have on your birthday? My favorite birthday cake is lemon pudding cake (Hey! That’s a great recipe idea for LCE! Noted!)
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? I don’t really like to travel.
What’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done? White water rafting. (WOW!!!)
Now, just judging by Jo’s answers to those questions, I bet you couldn’t tell that she has a disability, could you? In the United States, people with disabilities are chronically underemployed, and our hope with LCE is to grow the company so we can hire more people with disabilities to do things like videography, recipe testing, customer service… It’s our goal and we hope it becomes the goal of other companies too. Businesses would be better for it.
